Arctic Hub’s secretariat in Nuuk is searching for a new leader, as Jula Maegaard-Hoffmann has decided to pass on the baton.
If you dream of helping to set the direction for research in Greenland, now is a unique opportunity. After having led Arctic Hub – the central hub for research in Greenland – Jula Maegaard-Hoffmann has chosen to step down. Therefore, the position of Head of Secretariat is now open.
“It has been deeply meaningful for me to be part of a dedicated team and network working for the future of research in Greenland. At the same time, it has been a pleasure to meet so many inspiring people who carry valuable insights into Greenland,” says Jula Maegaard-Hoffmann.
The secretariat consists of four permanent positions as well as several project-based employees and is located at Pikialaarfik in Nuuk.
“Together, we have built an organization that has now found its place – both in Greenlandic society and in the international research community.”

From vision to reality
Jula Maegaard-Hoffmann has been part of Arctic Hub since the secretariat was established in 2021 – first as a consultant and, since August 2023, as Head of Secretariat. She has thus been involved from the time Arctic Hub existed only as a grand vision on paper to today, where it is a well-established actor.
“Together, we have built an organization that has now found its place – both in Greenlandic society and in the international research community. That’s why it is now time to pass on the leadership baton,” says Jula Maegaard-Hoffmann.
