Arctic Hub Connect

Fostering collaboration
in Greenlandic research

Arctic Hub Connect is an annual online event fostering collaboration among researchers and stakeholders engaged in Greenlandic research.

Here, we invite national and international researchers to share their upcoming projects and fieldwork activities, creating a better overview of research activities in and around Greenland.

By promoting coordination and knowledge exchange, the event aims to reduce research fatigue and enhance the quality and impact of studies conducted in Greenland.  The Arctic Hub Connect workshop is open to people from all research disciplines, institutions, and nations.

After the workshop, Arctic Hub compiles the information shared by participants into a virtual map, which is published on our platforms and shared with Greenlandic media. This ensures that all of Greenland can benefit from the insights exchanged at Arctic Hub Connect.

Target Group: Researchers with research activities in Greenland; all research areas welcome. Greenlandic research stakeholders are welcome to join too.

Date: Every year in the beginning of the year.

Participation: The workshop will be held online. The workshop language is English. You just have to register, when registrations open.

Why do we need a workshop like Arctic Hub Connect?

Since there is no general requirement for researchers in Greenland to register, a complete overview of research activities does not exist. However, a central part of Naalakkersuisut’s research strategy is that all research conducted in Greenland should benefit Greenland.

To achieve this goal, it’s necessary to know what research is being conducted in the country, and this heavily relies on the researchers’ willingness to cooperate.

At Arctic Hub, we would love to get a better understanding and overview of the research activities in Greenland. We invite you to share your plans for your research in Greenland and learn about other ongoing projects in the area you’re planning to visit.

The Arctic Hub Connect workshop invites researchers to share their planned research activities for the upcoming season with each other and the Greenlandic community.
