Arctic Hub is looking for an academic officer
About the position
As academic officer, you will have broad contact with Arctic Hub’s secretariat leader, board, and the rest of the team. You will report to the head of the secretariat, and you will play a key role in solving tasks that support the secretariat’s daily operations and task resolution. As an academic officer at Arctic Hub, you will:
– develop, launch, and manage initiatives that strengthen cooperation within research, education, society, administration, and business in Greenland, Denmark, and internationally
– contribute to internal and external coordination and the preparation of materials for the secretariat leader and the board
– be the face of Arctic Hub, for example, by representing at relevant conferences and handling daily inquiries to the secretariat via email or meetings.
Your qualifications
We would like you to have a master’s degree in academics. You should have experience with project work and the ability to work both independently and in teams. You should also have strong communication skills in at least two of the following languages: Greenlandic, Danish, and English. It is advantageous if you are familiar with Arctic research and societal and political conditions in Greenland.

– have a solid technical understanding. In addition to the Microsoft Office suite, we would like you to be comfortable with Microsoft Planner, Canva, Podio, and WordPress.

Arctic Hub is a hub for Arctic research focusing on Greenland. Greenland and Denmark have jointly established the secretariat in Nuuk, and the Arctic Hub has many high ambitions. Terms of employment
The Greenland Institute of Natural Resources houses the Arctic Hub’s secretariat. Therefore, you will be employed at the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources, but you will report to the Arctic Hub secretariat leader.
The position is financed through Denmark and Greenland’s finance acts. Thus, it is a permanent position, subject to continued funding through the finance acts.
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the agreement/contract in force at the time of joining between Greenland’s Home Rule and your negotiating-eligible organization.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel expenses for joining and leaving the job and moving of household goods, are in accordance with the agreement/contract in force at the time of joining between Greenland’s Home Rule and the respective negotiating-eligible organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is tied to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of employment.
