Written by Arctic Hub

Now, you have the chance to become a part of Arctic Hub. We are currently looking for two new consultants to join our office in Nuuk.

Are you passionate about research in Greenland? Do you have experience in project management and administrative tasks? And a flair for building strong relationships? Then you might be our new colleague at Arctic Hub.

We are seeking one to two new employees for the secretariat in Nuuk, who will help strengthen the role of research in society. We emphasize finding the right, dedicated colleagues who are eager to make a difference for research in Greenland. Tasks and responsibilities can be adjusted based on your skills and experience.

About the positions

As part of Arctic Hub, you will play a central role in bridging research with the wider society – in Greenland, Denmark, and internationally. Our stakeholders include individual researchers, engaged citizens, and international research institutions.

Depending on your profile and experience, your responsibilities may include:

  • Development, initiation, and execution of projects and events that strengthen cooperation between research, education, public administration, business, and the general public.
  • Independent responsibility for project management – from the idea phase to implementation and reporting – with a special focus on Arctic Hub’s initiatives under the EU Green Growth program, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Internal and external coordination of administrative tasks and preparation of materials for the head of the secretariat and the board.
  • Advising researchers, partners, and other stakeholders on the conditions and societal context of research in Greenland.
  • Representing Arctic Hub at relevant conferences, networks, and meetings – both in and outside Greenland.
  • Contributing to fundraising and the development of new financing opportunities.

You will report to the head of the secretariat and become part of a small, dedicated team.

Your qualifications

We imagine that you:

  • Hold a relevant academic degree – but curiosity and the right experience also count.
  • Thrive in a dynamic work environment with diverse tasks – from desk work to public representation in Greenland, Denmark, and abroad.
  • Have experience with project work and/or project management.
  • Possess strong communication skills in at least two of the following languages: Greenlandic, Danish, and English.
  • Have knowledge of Arctic research as well as societal and political conditions in Greenland – or a willingness to learn.

Personal attributes

We hope you:

  • Are committed and proactive.
  • Are structured, process-oriented, and enjoy varied tasks.
  • Are creative and find joy in learning new things.
  • See yourself as a team player who takes responsibility – even when working independently.
  • Are good at building and maintaining relationships.
  • Are tech-savvy and comfortable using digital tools (in addition to the Office suite, we also use Microsoft Planner, Canva, Podio, and WordPress).
