At Arctic Hub, we would love to get a better understanding and overview of the research activities in Greenland. We invite you to share your plans for your research in Greenland in 2024 and learn about other ongoing projects in the area you’re planning to visit.

 

Target Group: Researchers with research activities in Greenland in 2024; all research areas welcome. Greenlandic research stakeholders are welcome to join as well.

 

Date: Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 – 11:00-14.00 am (UTC-2/West Greenlandic Time).

 

Participation: The online meeting will be held on Zoom by invitation: The workshop language is English. To improve the experience for both you and your fellow attendees, we encourage you to participate actively and with video. 🙂

 

Aim: 
1) Establish an overview of research activities in Greenland across research disciplines
2) Share overview with a broad range of stakeholders, e.g. citizens, public administration, business organizations
3) Enhance the quality of research through coordination, collaboration, and knowledge exchange
4) Reduce research fatigue in Greenland.

11:00-11:20 Welcome: An Introduction to Arctic Hub Connect and the purpose of the workshop by Jula Maegaard-Hoffmann, Arctic Hub 
11:20-11:35 Keynote: Introduction to the ICARP IV process by Henry Burgess, NERC Arctic Office & IASC
11:35-11:50 Keynote: Oceans North by Parnuna Egede Dahl, Special Advisor
11:50-12:00 Break: 10 min.
12:00-12:45 Break-out session #1: Geographical location. During break-out sessions, we will be dividing the group into smaller geographic areas, allowing you time to introduce yourself and your research to the other participants that will conduct research in the same area as you. Please note that you will have 1-2 minutes for your introductions, and detailed PowerPoint presentations will not be possible.  Once all participants have presented, there will be dedicated time for discussions and knowledge exchange. 
12:45-13:00 Break: 15 min.  
13:00-13:45 Break-out session #2: Thematic groups. During break-out session #2 we will be divided into smaller thematic areas, allowing a dialog on opportunities and issues related to your field of work. - Natural Sciences, - Social sciences, - Health Sciences
